The second oyster shucking bucket is from an unknown Core Sound oyster shucking house. These "shucking buckets" were used by the "shuckers" (workers) who would be paid by the quantity of oysters they opened (shucked). When the worker would turn in a certain quantity of oysters during the work day, they would receive an "oyster token" (coin shaped token) that would be later turned in at the end of the week for their pay. See Lot # 651, 652 & 653 for oyster tokens.
